Curling | Winter Olympics Spectator's Guide
An excerpt from "The Winter Olympics: An Insider's Guide to the Legends, the Lore, and the Games" by Ron C. Judd, a Seattle Times staff reporter.
By Ron Judd
Seattle Times staff reporter
Much of the derision surrounding curling as an Olympic sport can be attributed to a widespread lack of knowledge about how the game actually works. Taking a few moments to familiarize oneself with the rules and setup can turn it into an enjoyable, albeit low-key, spectator sport. If you choose not to understand its inner workings, curling will look, well, just silly.
NOTE FROM THE SHUFFLER: Bob Weber sent this along.
The pdf file, link in the margin, takes you to an excellent explanation of Curling > a sport often compared to Shuffleboard. With the Winter Olympics beginning in less than 60 days, we encourage you to read the Explanation. Curling was NOT ALWAYS an Olympic Sport!! As/If you read, decide if there is something our Shuffling Organizations should be doing to “explain” our Sport!!

INDIVIDUALS WILL NOW BE RESPONSIBLE TO GET THE REGISTRATION MONEY TO GERMANY.
BACKGROUND: We originally believed it would be better to have the registration money come to the CNSA, and the CNSA would arrange for the bank to bank money transfer. Shortly after we advised you of this, Germany posted on their website the method they would like used. Dieter confirmed this in an E-mail to me. Thus, the change.
Alf and The Shuffler are making available to Canadians only, a method to a) complete the form electronically >> AND when you finish, you will click SUBMIT and the form will be sent to Dieter! We have tested this with Dieter and he is completely satisfied with the manner in which the information is received. The completed form should be sent about the time you send the bank to bank transfer. These funds are to be paid not later than March 01st of 2010, see paragraph 1 of the Form.
